This July I went on a two week Trip to Jackson Hole Woyming and on the way back we went throught Southern Utah and visted and explored the National Parks..This trip was a trip of a life time but it kicked my “behind” and here’s why…..I travled with my my best friend in San Francisco and her Husband and three kids.. we car carvaned…Annette and her Family back pack all the time..the kids grew up back packing.. Utah is VERY HOT..in the summer…it basically a desart..so what would be a comforable easy hike or walk turned into a brutal, tough hike in the heat…..the backing packing family were “ok” with the heat it did not seem to phase them or slow them down.. so I had to buck up and hike as if it was not hot…one day I totally over did it by not eating or drinking much water and hiking in that desart heat… the resault was me seeing double, and needing to eat Protine Bars to replish my salt and suger levels and it stil took me until the evening to cool down and feel normal…outside of that this trip was AMAZING.. we bagan in Oakland we drove to Twin Cities Idaho and then To Jackson Hole WY the next day.. We were there for a week for the fantastic Grand Teatons Music Festival Nate and Harlen sang in the Festival..Then we left at the end of the week on a Sunday and took six days to see The National Parks in Southern Utah.. My oh My Southern Utah is a NOT TO MISS place..so stunningly beautiful! Red HUGE rocks, big big sky..water falls and gorges, canyons and rivers and tall pine tree’s hot desert and airad desart this is part of the United States that is unique to the area …and very very special…Each Posting will be about a differnt place on our trip…not necessarily in order…along the way I will point out my favoriate towns and why… A trip like this is not about the destination its about what adventures can you come across on the way to the next town…driving was easy we drove about four hours a day, with the exception of going to Jackson Hole and then returning home..but through Southern Utah we only drove for four hours stopping often to hike, swim and explore..
So after our week in Jackson WY we drove to Flaming Gorge and Swam, from there we went to Canyon Lands National Park!! …wa hoo!!
