About: San Francisco City Hall re-opened in 1915. It is built in the Beaux-Arts style and is one of the most beautiful buildings in the San Francisco Bay Area. As the crown jewel of San Francisco, not only is it the seat of government, but it holds within its walls the history of San Francisco. To know San Francisco well, you have to know its history. This tour is given by the Historian at City Hall, a wonderfully engaging person whose explanations are a brilliant intertwining of the shared history of the city and City Hall.
